We have been thrilled with the generous response from all of you regarding the items that have been donated and dropped off at the Showbiz Pizza at Town Center!

Due to our need to relocate to a new facility in Freetown, we are currently unable to accept donations of goods in-kind to be shipped to the Children's Center.

Once the move has taken place, we will once again be accepting donated items. In the meantime, if you would like to make a contribution to our new building fund, or would like to sponsor the children of All As One, please click here.

ALL AS ONE QUIZ NIGHT

The All As One Quiz Night will be held at Muntazah Club in Jebel Ali on Thursday, 31 May, from 8pm until late.

Test your skills on general knowledge, local and global cultures, cinema, music and other areas like dingbats and Family Fortunes. You could come away with some great prizes. The quiz masters have been running this event for the last year, and, each time, have managed to make it different from the conventional “pub quiz” -- it’s fun and, best of all, it’s for a great cause!

Entry fee is AED50 which includes a three course meal (no beverages).

Coming on 19 February 2007:

"Blood Diamond" charity film screening at Cinestar

Cinestar at Mall of Emirates will be hosting a special screening of the film "Blood Diamond" on Monday, 19 February at 7 pm. The admission price is Dhs30 and Cinestar will provide popcorn and a drink to all those attending the screening. The film, set in Sierra Leone in 1999, depicts events during the civil war that devastated the country. All proceeds of this special screening will be donated to All As One and benefit the children of Sierra Leone, who are still suffering the effects of the war.

Tickets will be available at the MoE Box Office beginning Saturday afternoon, 17 February.

We Need Your Help!

There is a water shortage in Freetown and often we do not have enough water to do the laundry, especially cloth baby nappies. This means we have an urgent need for disposable nappies, disposable nappies and did we mention, disposable nappies? We also have a great need for:

- children's musical instruments (of all types)
- new solid-color, plain t-shirts of all sizes
- lead-free paint
- white boards (for the school) with markers
- small slates for the younger children to use in school
- school exercise books
- laundry detergent (antibacterial-type; color-safe)
- toys for the older children (cars and dolls)
- rolls or bolts of fabric, for uniforms and other clothing
- school desks and chairs
- plates and cups (aluminum works well)
- silverware (metal or plastic)

We have a great need for generators, both small and large, since there is very little electricity available in Freetown and we depend on generators to get so much of our work done.
